Need a family opinion

Well I went to the John Mayer concert last night, it was wonderful. How can you not fall for his lyrics, his wrenching voice, acoustics, instrumentals, beautiful sounds rushing in and in? Went with guy, who I thought liked John Mayer since he offered to go with me after I expressed my desire to go, turns out he is not even a fan. Does this mean he just wanted to go with me or that he felt bad when later I told him there were still tickets left and asked him if he actually wanted to go? I mean he did pay $80 to go.
